2025 marks a new chapter for Polyplan: entering the U.S. market.
Thorsten Wagner will be responsible for building the new office in Ann Arbor, MI – as Head of Sales, Americas.
What matters most – an interview with Thorsten Wagner
What does the new location mean for Polyplan?
The U.S. is an important market for Polyplan, especially in the automotive and logistics sectors. Having a local office lays the foundation for stronger customer relations, faster response times, and a deeper understanding of the local market. At the same time, we aim to establish our engineering expertise more firmly in the U.S. and position ourselves as a reliable partner for forward-looking automation solutions.
What excites you personally about this role?
The opportunity to build something new, to develop markets, and to help shape Polyplan’s international presence. I’m especially drawn to the combination of technology, strategy, and intercultural exchange.
What are the next steps?
We’ll begin building up the new site later this year. The first priority is to create a network of potential clients, partners, and key industry contacts. At the same time, we’re working on the internal structures we need for successful project execution – from sales processes to service concepts. The goal is to launch the first concrete projects as soon as possible.
And outside of work – what are you most looking forward to in the U.S.?
New perspectives – both professionally and personally. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing the local culture… and enjoying a proper burger and football at a decent hour.
